Bloody Sunday petition for the release of Saville Report

PRAYER FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE

Lord Jesus, Carpenter and King, supreme Sovereign of all men, look with tender mercy upon the multitudes of our day who bear the indignities of injustice everywhere. Raise up leaders in every land dedicated to Your standards of order, equity, and justice. Grant unto us, Lord Jesus, the grace to be worthy members of Your Mystical Body, laboring unceasingly to fulfill our vocation in the social apostolate of Your Church. Sharpen our intellects to pierce the pettiness of prejudice; to perceive the beauty of true human brotherhood. Guide our minds to a meaningful understanding of the problems of the poor, of the oppressed, of the unemployed, of all in need of assistance anywhere. Guide our hearts against the subtle lure of earthly things and undue regard for those who possess them. May we hunger and thirst after justice always.
Amen.

Dear Friends

Please sign the online petition for the Bloody Sunday families.  As many of you may know, now that the Saville Inquiry is complete  the Brits are stalling the release of the findings!  What a surprise!  They are in fact looking to
have a review by the legal eyes for the British government, the legal team that represents & defends the British military forces, MI5, etc....  The concern is that this review team may alter the findings of the Saville Report before it is presented to the public.  These families have been abused long enough!  They have waited long enoughNOTHING HAS CHANGED!  NOTHING AT ALL!  There was rioting in Craigavon on Saturday night and the "new, more lethal" plastic bullets were used against Republican youths.  Did you know that the "new" PSNI have ordered  50,000 of these lethal weapons for use in the 6 Counties??  This is peace?

"AOH Brothers - Need Help Forming a Pipe & Drum Band"

AOH Brothers,

At the February AOH meeting we had a discussion about forming "The Dutchess County AOH Pipe and Drum Band"...

As a result, I'm asking all our members, past and present, especially those members that already play, or have played the Pipes or Drum, to let me know if you are interested in getting together, to discuss what it takes to form a band...

If you know a non-member, Piper or Drummer that you believe might be interested in this endeavor, invite him or her to participate... Send me their name, e-mail address & phone number...

E-mail me at Jhw09@optonline.net
or 914-456-7508

Walden Rotary Club is presenting it's 6th Annual, "Echoes of Ireland" show on March 14, 2010.
Attached is the show flier. Please feel free to send and show this to as many people, as possible. We're hoping to have a complete SELL OUT this year, and certainly with your help, this will be a reality. The show is an extremely good one, and our friend, "Irish-America's Favorite Son", Andy Cooney, is a definite crowd pleaser. When he comes to us, Andy, will have performed to another SOLD OUT crowd, at Carnegie Hall, in New York City. Also, I have met and appreciate the talents of Mr. George Casey, a very funny man. Kate Purcell has a lovely voice, and the Darrah Carr Dancers, are a must to see. Because of the present economic conditions, we've kept the ticket price at $25, hopefully within reach of everyone. Tickets are now on sale. As you know, all proceeds of the show, go towards funding the great charities of Walden Rotary Club, a non-profit community charitable organization.

Let me know how many tickets you will need for this entertainment extravaganza. Also, you may want to place an ad in our program journal, or even include it in your newspaper writings . Whatever you decide to do, be sure that all of us at Walden Rotary, and those most in need in our community, appreciate your wonderful support. God Bless. Happy New Year 2010!!

Sincerely,

William J. "Bill" Schimpf
